It works. It's easy. But it's not always the best solution when you are trying to build a relationship.
Any relationship for that matter.
There's only so much that you can say with Emoji's, text, and Gifs.
And if you think you can build a relationship with the people who like you enough to give you their sacred information, only for you to contact them on an automated chain of emails - YOU ARE WRONG!
So, what's the 1 thing you must do so you aren't committing this sales funnel crime?
Before I jump into the action you should take, remember this.
You SHOULD use email automation to help build, educate, and, connect with your audience.
But that's not the only way.
You have to actively initiate and cultivate the relationship with the people who support you.
Before, during, and after a sale.
Because after all, they want to get to know you, what you do and, how you'll help them BEFORE the sale ever happens.
Passive income isn't all that passive, huh?
So what do you do instead...?
Create a space to communicate beyond your website comment section or automated emails.
It's no secret that automated emails are golden for keeping your sales funnel from going stale. But don't let the convenience distance you from your audience.
It's your job to find other ways to connect with your audience. If you don't, you risk the possibility of losing credibility and potentially sales.
Here are 6 ways you can connect with your audience and reach them on their favorite platforms.
-
Invite them to your favorite social media channels (and follow them back!)
It's always a great feeling when your favorite entrepreneurs like a tweet, shares your Facebook post or invite others to your Periscope. Try it out.
- Remind them to join your own online community and shout them out. (there's so much you can do when you have your own community to cultivate)
And keep reminding them. Add it to your freebies, thank you pages, emails, blog post and on social media. Then, when they join, give them a warm welcome so they can get in and get active.
-
Hop on a live video and let them see your face. This can build their trust in you much faster than your blog or emails.
There is nothing better than finally seeing and hearing from your favorite entrepreneurs. Emails are great and sparking conversations online is beautiful. But, communicating live with your audience opens up another door of communication that you can't get anywhere else.
-
Ask them to reply to your emails and start a conversation. This is a two-way street.
You ask for the reply. They reply. And you always reply back. Even if it's a short and sweet message or a more thoughtful response - reply back. If they were on the fence before, you've hooked them in now.
-
Share their content on your social media platforms. Talk about a big, "WHOA she noticed me!" moment!
Again, reciprocate the love. Pin their blog post, retweet their tweets, comment on their Facebook post, 'heart' their Instagram graphics, snap back on Snapchat.
-
Give consistent and useful content by answering exactly what they ask for.
You may think WHOA this sounds like I will never get a minute away from my computer or phone. I'm here to tell you, I got your back!
